1. Our Privacy Philosophy
AXIOM is designed with privacy at its core. We cannot read your messages. We do not store your messages on central servers. Your private keys never leave your device. This policy explains what data we do and do not collect.
2. What We Cannot Access
Due to AXIOM's technical architecture, we have no access to:
- Message content: Messages are encrypted with ML-KEM-768 (post-quantum) before leaving your device;
- Private keys: Generated and stored only on your device;
- Message shares: Distributed across 10 independent nodes using Shamir secret sharing;
- Contact lists: Stored locally on your device.
Even if compelled by law enforcement, we cannot provide data we do not have.
3. Website Data Collection
When you visit our website (quarterbit.dev), we may collect:
- Analytics: Page views, browser type, and general location (via Firebase Analytics);
- Contact form: Name, email, and message if you contact us;
- Downloads: Aggregate download counts.
This website data is separate from the AXIOM network and is not linked to your messaging activity.
4. Blockchain Data
The AXIOM blockchain is a public ledger. The following data is publicly visible to all network participants: wallet addresses, transaction amounts, transaction timestamps, and leader/node status. Message content is NOT stored on the blockchain - only encrypted message hashes for verification purposes.
5. Node Operators
Network nodes (operated by independent Leaders) temporarily store encrypted message shares. Each node only holds 1 of 10 shares, which is cryptographically useless without 6 other shares. We do not control what node operators do with their logs, but the protocol ensures they cannot read message content.
6. Data We Store
Clouthier Simulation Labs stores the following data:
- Website analytics (anonymized, via Firebase);
- Contact form submissions;
- Support ticket communications;
- Ko-fi donation records (processed by Ko-fi).
7. Cookies
Our website uses cookies for analytics (Firebase) and basic functionality. The AXIOM desktop application does not use cookies or tracking. You can disable cookies in your browser settings without affecting the messaging application.
8. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Firebase: Website hosting and analytics;
- Formspree: Contact form processing;
- Ko-fi: Donation processing;
- GitHub: Source code hosting.
Each service has its own privacy policy. We do not share user data with advertisers.
9. Your Rights Under PIPEDA
Under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the right to:
- Access any personal information we hold about you;
- Request correction of inaccurate information;
- Request deletion of your personal information;
- Withdraw consent for data collection;
- File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Note: We cannot delete blockchain transactions or message shares on the decentralized network, as we do not control that data.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on our website with an updated date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
